As per the information available, BMW Classic has already commissioned automotive part supplier ZF Friedrichshafen AG to provide the solution to this gearbox. The company is well known as gearbox specialist and BMW would like to make certain modifications to the gearbox that has been produced more than 70 years ago. The company also revealed that the first prototype is already done and that they will do some testing to ensure that the new gearbox works perfectly with the old BMW 328. They will ensure that the gearbox works perfectly in current situations and once it is approved BMW will deliver it to the customers by the start of 2013.
